What am I looking for?

What is the meaning of my life?

How can I become part of something

bigger than myself?

How can I be a better person?

Does God have something to say to me?

How can I know the right path for me?

What can I do about the loneliness

I feel?

How can I make a positive difference

in this world?

How can I come to know God’s love?

Travis Kemp, Candidate

Teri and Travis Kemp and their sons Bruce (7), and Cole (5) live in Palatine. Travis is a Pharmacist/Medical Technologist who is currently looking for work.  He was born in Kewanee, IL and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago.  Travis enjoys jogging, reading and says “the past few months I've had time to cook and bake as well.”  Travis is working towards receiving the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist and his parish sponsor is Les Gaulke.

Teri Kemp, Catechumen

Teri describes her spiritual journey so far as “encouraging, enlightening, interesting and deeply thoughtful.”  She hopes to “continue to explore the Catholic faith and gain knowledge of God’s plan for myself and my children.”  Teri was born and raised in Muncie, Indiana.  She works for the College of American Pathologists. She will receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.  Her parish sponsor is Dee Gaulke and Georganne and Robert (Bob) Bradshaw will support her as her sacramental sponsors.

Miguel Barajas, Candidate

Miguel Barajas was born in Michoacán, Mexico.  The name Michoacán comes from the Náhuatl terms, michin (fish), hua (those who have) and can (place) which roughly translates into "place of the fisherman."  So maybe he was destined from birth to, like the first disciples who were fishermen, respond to Jesus’ call to “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”  Miguel was raised in Chicago, now lives in Palatine with his wife, Helen, and works for Blue Cross & Blue Shield Association.  Miguel is already baptized and is attending RCIA to complete the sacraments of initiation, Confirmation and Eucharist, this Easter.  Miguel’s parish sponsor is Ron Mammarella.
